About Sarah

Sarah Bishop, LCMHC

Hey there! My name is Sarah and I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2019. Since then, I’ve loved working with clients of all backgrounds who are coping with challenges due to neurodiversity, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and more. I have found that offering teletherapy allows more folks to access mental healthcare with fewer worries about barriers that often stop people from receiving support.

As a neurodivergent therapist myself, I believe wholeheartedly in the power of prioritizing my clients’ lived experiences throughout our time together.  I work through a lens of intersectionality and feel strongly that each client is the expert of their own experience in life. My clients can count on me to use a trauma-informed and person-centered approach as we work together to create a treatment plan that centers their individual needs. In our sessions, I value collaborating with my clients to create positive change through utilizing techniques drawn from many therapeutic approaches including psychoeducation, mindfulness, narrative therapy, cognitive and dialectical behavioral coping skills, and solution focused therapy.

My goal is always to create a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment where clients can feel safe to express their thoughts and feelings without filters. I am constantly pursuing more education to enable me to do my best to empower my clients to feel capable of tackling any life challenge they meet. Feel free to reach out for a 15 minute free consultation call to see if we would be a good fit to work together!
