Payment & Insurance

Initial assessment

All services are conducted virtually; this initial session is designated for individuals to provide a background history, complete any necessary paperwork, and create a treatment plan. While some clients are able to complete this in 60 minutes, I reserve 90 minutes for our first meeting to make sure you do not feel rushed to tell me your story.

Payment options

Currently, I am unable to accept insurance.

Payments will be made through the client portal with almost any kind of credit or debt card, including: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, Diners Club, and FSA & HSA cards.

I am happy to provide a super bill for you to submit to your insurance. Please speak with your insurance company directly regarding their reimbursement policy.

Cancellation Policy

Your appointment time is reserved especially for you and I am typically unable to fill that time with limited notice. If you need to cancel your appointment, please contact me as soon as possible. Appointments cancelled within 24 hours will be charged a late cancel fee of $50. If you do not arrive for your scheduled appointment or you cancel within two hours of the appointment, the appointment will be charged $100. Thank you for your understanding.

Sliding scale policy

I wholeheartedly believe that therapy is an investment you make in yourself to work toward improving your mental health and overall wellbeing. As a general rule, self-pay session prices reflect this in order to encourage both you and your therapist to take your time together seriously.

However, I also strongly believe that mental health therapy should be accessible to all people, regardless of income or insurance coverage. As such, I offer reduced rates for any income up to 500% of the federally established poverty rate. I also offer a greater out-of-pocket discount rate for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) as part of my dedication to contributing to reparations for the inequities BIPOC face on a regular basis as a direct result of systemic white supremacy.

If you believe a sliding scale fee would help you make therapy more accessible to you, please request how to determine your eligibility in our initial consultation.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what your services may cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

  • For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-633-4227
